Re: Demon Slayer The Movie Hit At Overseas Box Office!
"One of the intriguing storylines to come out about this movie is hints about the father of series lead Ash Ketchum, who is oft speculated about by fans. The mystery of who Ash’s dad is may not be solved in this movie, but the director Tetsuo Yajima has hinted that it will be a subject in this movie."
I heard about that. Supposedly it's just a brief bit of dialogue of Ash telling Koko his dad encouraged him to follow his dreams of being a trainer. That's it. No mention of his current whereabouts, no flashback showing his face. Of course this being an alternate reality doesn't really seem important.

Nothing last forever. Nice while it lasted. That's directed to Demon, I've never watched "Gintama".

Demon slayer movie submitted for animated film at the academy awards.
Sad to say the 3 case closed films released in limited release last year are not part of it.
Also keep in mind the academy hates anime.

That's true enough--And not just because "(...) wasn't nominated!", but because fans made pests of themselves the times Pon Poko and Princess Mononoke were up for Foreign Language consideration.
Then Spirited Away won Animated, and everyone went home happy and culturally validated.

Princess Mononoke didn't secure the nomination.

Nnno kiddin', Wikipedia--A further exploration of the Academy term "Consideration":
http://cepublic.oscars.org/uploads/D24A ... _Rules.pdf
(And after all the '99 inferiority-complex anime fan push for Mononoke to make the cut, one anonymous committee member was interviewed as saying that the 90's Academy had frankly had enough of animation in general after Disney made an attention-hog of itself for Beauty&Beast, causing equally annoying fan-blitzes for Aladdin and Lion King, and the Foreign Language jury in particular after the Pon Poko push...Nice going, fans. Oh, and also that Mononoke wasn't really that good, compared to some of the Eastern-bloc films that year.
One of the reasons we later GOT Best Animated Feature as a category was so fans would have somewhere else to go.)

Sure, Eric, that’s why we have a BAF Oscar now...

But... Mononoke was still never "up" for Oscar consideration. A film has to be put forward and, though it may have had buzz and got the nod if it had been, it never was.

It was Japan's entry for competition, which got all the fans excited, back in those days. They were simpler times.
....................Pretty much.
