Disney making live action Aristocats movie.

Looks like peter rabbit director has been tapped to do a live action film based on the disney animated film Aristocats. It joins Pinocchio, snow white, lilo and stitch, sword in the stone, little mermaid and other disney animated films getting live action versions.

Well, that was inevitable.

But more for the reason that it was an old memo left around from the 00's direct-video days where they discovered they could reboot old unsellable lost-to-obscurity titles with new sequels, and it was only John Lasseter that stopped us from getting Aristocats II on disc.
Now, with theater production down, they don't have to worry about the Chinese or expensive-name LA remakes, and can concentrate on the bulk-product Disney+ ones.

(And are they still doing "Teen Lilo & Her BFF"? It's been a while since we've heard anything.)

Yup but they keep swapping it between disney plus release and theatre release. Wo knew at this point where it's going.

It's more likely going to be a Disney+ exclusive.

Rumors have been floating around for years so it's not totally surprising.

One dream cast choice: Maggie Smith would make a brilliant Madame Adelaide Bonfamille! She's a legend! Timelessly old. And would add another former "Downton Abbey" star. Although she might be a bit big for such a role. Angela Lansbury would also be a top choice.

Which is pretty much how the audience remembers it.
