No. It may pick up some sub-Kung Fu Panda business, but the mere fact that it’s being given away "free" on TV — at least here and who knows where else — speaks volumes to no-one having any misconceptions that this is the start of the next Panda-type franchise…

Has as a strong cast at least. Could be good for a few laughs.

New ads showing up in the usual online-ads places, and, yep:
Dig out the cast interviews, it's Explanation Alert. The new official red flag of a movie nobody wanted.

(And I know Mel Brooks is 90, but seeing him in every B-tier animation-voice gig hurts my Young Frankenstein-era 70's soul... )

Just be glad it’s not more closely associated with that era and kept the Blazing Samurai title…

Well, the review embargo shows that I think this will be a stinker.

That has happened with other animated films that turned out to be terrible, like Arctic Dogs.

It's strange how this isn't supposed to be a reimagining of Mel Brooks's Blazing Saddles, but so many journalists think it is.

That’s because, as you know, it started as that…

Well, Paws of Fury got an A- CinemaScore rating. Is it going to leg out, or play like Lightyear?

Actually, from what I've been reading, the film ends up being a straight-up remake! Like almost (but not quite) scene for scene. With a dog in a town full of prejudiced cats instead of a black cowboy in a town full of racist white people.

This makes me...oddly curious. That and the trailers do have a few good chuckles.

Well, paws of fury looks like didn't just get tripped by minions at the box office they beat them up backstage and walked across their knocked out bodies as paws made a awful $7m while minions made second again with another $26m.

And with superpets predicting to make $30m opening weekend coming up looks like the end of the road for paws.

Kind of surprised this one didn't do better at the box office.
