This. Is. So. Weird.

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-styl ... 75294.html

I’m a staunch devotee of Classic Who (although I do like some of NuWho) but this is nuts!

**********************************

Basically a guy’s obsession with Classic Who and his stoic insistence that his girlfriend watch EVERY SINGLE EPISODE (multiple times) is verging on emotional abuse.

I actually do agree…obsessively trying to get a partner to do ANYTHING they don’t want to do is wrong no matter what. :|
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I dunno, that feels like something he would want to do and make her watch to react and such. ;)

New still from "The Power of the Doctor" plus an excerpt:

Image
Empire wrote:“It’s one for the Whovians,” Whittaker tells Empire in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever issue. “It’s a huge treat if you’re a proper fan. It’s got all the iconic things that you associate with Doctor Who. It’s massive.” And it sounds like this Doctor’s final scene will be as emotional as ever. “I love the dialogue Chris wrote for my regeneration,” she says. “It captures my Doctor beautifully. It’s simple, epic and beautiful.” It’s a sequence Whittaker says is all delivered in one long take. “When I could see the crew was happy with that last shot, that’s when my bottom lip started going,” she recalls. “I was like, ‘Well, they can’t say they need another take now because I’ve f'ing lost it!’”
The final countdown. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Trailer:

That's going to be a lot to balance! A Dalek invasion, The Master, Cybermen, old/current companions, a regeneration and a whole era wrap up! Also at the 39 second mark I see two Tardises! Looks somewhat epic.

But fed up with the whole end of the Doctor/end of the universe stuff that we get every end of season, but I believe this is supposed to be a 90 minute special, so it should be pretty epic!

The episode was screened last night for the press:

The regeneration scene was not shown. Wise decision.

One outlet was definitely cheesed off! Their tweet has since been deleted. The press were explicitly told that content from the episode and panel were embargoed until further notice. If you know where to look, leaks have been posted. So yeah, the regeneration scene would no doubt have leaked one way or another. I don't have to tell you how awful it would be to have something as big as an ending spoiled...

But we already know she’s gonna become a flamboyant black dude by way of an orangey-glow regen! They might as well shown it to the freakin' press at least. Would have been peeved to get to an exclusive press showing, embargo understood, and then not been shown the whole thing. It’s not like we don’t know she’s leaving or the new guy hasn’t been announced. This is all known! :)

A guide to regeneration:

Pretty fun wacky video. Liked the old-timey approach. Almost time!
