Might make for a good cartoon character.

Maybe it'll be called Toy Story 3: Jessie's Roundup.

I think the sequel should about Jessie's quest to show Andy her name is, in fact, not "Bazooka Jane". :)

BTW...Am I the only one who thinks Jessie is a bit...schizophrenic?
Actually, she seemed more manic-depressive to me.

This is interesting....

I always appreciate Jim's objective viewpoint. :)

In any case, does this mean that projects like "Rapunzel" are going to be flushed down the toilet now?
Exactly what Jim is asking. They cancled Toy Story 3 so...who knows. :?

I am actually wondering what will happen to Cinderella III and other Disney Animation sequels in the works? Will they be cancelled?

Future DTVs may be shelved, I suppose. After all, it supposedly happened to Dumbo II.

Let's hope so!

I have no problem with post-Walt films being sequelized by the original teams, since this is the Hollywood we live in today, but bastardizing the classics has to stop.

And even with the follow-ups to thr recent films...lets put a hold on those "mid-quels" please, and turn out proper continuations if they need to at all...

Like I think you have mentioned also, Ben, I am still strongly hoping for a Tarzan sequel that deal with the character's adventures in London.

BTW, this also means that The Mouse owns all of The Lamp's shorts.

So hopefully that DVD set of shorts this summer could theoretically contain these...

On another tack...I totally see Jim Hill's surprise at their market price. I was surprised too, at the $7b tag, especially considering that the much bigger and prolific DreamWorks went to Paramount for around a billion less...

I don't know. The movie was pretty well into production, wasn't it?

I'm not sure...I think it's only been a year actually. I think it was a year ago when they first announced the director.

Anyways, it's gone for now. Hopefully the people working on it will be assigned to something else.

I also can't help wondering what will happen to The Wild (are John and Ed really going to want to work on this film?) or whether or not another bidding war for animators will start up.

Think about it: a lot of artists are going to want to work for Disney-Pixar now. (especially with Dick Cook's comment that a return to 2d might very well be possible http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/25/busin ... .html?_r=2 ) What are the other studios like DreamWorks, Blue Sky, and Sony Pictures Animation going to do if their animators decide to jump ship? (I hope not.)

My head is spinning with all this excitement....
