Wade trying to put out Ember. Love the detail of his head vibrating to the music.

Yay!

In less good news, the film earned $11.8M for its domestic opening day, the lowest in Pixar's history. I'm thinking it will prove very leggy.

Heh, that's the same one from the mall tours! Hopefully it can survive the outside elements.

They’ll be fine if it’s a hot but rainy day. ;)

Polygon's review says the Cars-like contradictions and weird world-building implications almost sink the film. I have a feeling Ben may not like it! They also say the story is much deeper than Cars, but that makes all the "world" questions that much more distracting.

Deeper sure, but only very superficially.

I agree. It somehow managed to make the world of Cars look perfectly logical.

Oh dear! But donut worry! It’s already "dumb" before I see it for having a world where elements — freakin' *elements*! — exist as physical forms! But even dumb can be well executed and swerve around "wait, what?" questions if it’s deftly handled and can either explain somehow or gloss over well enough in an entertaining way. Sounds like maybe they didn’t quite hit those marks though…

I’ll be waiting for D+ anyway, and/or the eventual disc, which I’ll likely nab inevitably anyway. :)

Cute. They should've made a trailer out of that!
