So Christopher Robin survived but his injuries made him change into a completely different actor! ;)

Still think this is just a desecration of Milne's original, not less Walt's take. Come up with a new pastiche character if you need to and be clever, rather than building a concept based on something it is not. Grr…! :(

Remember how movies are not the same pd rules as books. True. Unless it's over 90 years old! Then it is the same rules! Steamboat willie and plane craze scrapper mickey will be pd next year for anyone to use. But only the scrapper versions of mickey, minnie and pete.

Disney made a response to that--by threat!

We might see a few knock-offs, but the Fleischer Popeye and Superman have been PD for years and we don’t see much of those in rip-off works.

Some of those other characters and films won’t be going PD for a while. If it’s still 95 years, the 1939 Wizard Of Oz won't be rip-offable until 2034…another ten years, along with the first rush of late '30s superheroes. Interesting that AI is coming into its own just as these recognisable and household names will be available to adapt…!

Not sure why you’ve been so "pro-active" about this whole issue, gaas? You seem to be revelling in celebration that this is happening…?

Yes, Disney will be feeling the effects of others taking it’s now copyright free film and making the argument that Disney itself has profited from turning public domain stories into films, but they were taking long-old stories and creating new works from them. What’s happening here is just lazy appropriation, not new or derivative works. It’s all kind of redundant, because no-one is going to make much of any money from it. One may as well spray paint a smile on the Mona Lisa and call that "new" or "art"…

I have? I reported on it but never said I was "happy" over it. Wasn't happy they made a pooh horror movie also.

How was I celebrating? If I came off as that it wasn't my attempt. Was just reporting things.

That didn't take long - a trailer for a new co-op horror game where players are hunted by Steamboat Willie:

Meh. Always horror...
