I did! I viewed the 3D disc a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't "looking forward" to it a whole lot necessarily, but I wanted to support the 3D release, and I did recall that you had recommended it. And I did like it! Nice to see a different animation style, and the story was relatively unique, with good characters.

Worst opening in dreamworks history. Expect a vod release any time now! On a plus side she did defeat flash this weekend! Flash ended up behind both mermaid films who stepped all over him to beat him this week!

She was fine. Design was fun. Voice actress was good.

Spoilers:
The trailers spoil the fact that she's actually the bad guy... but in the film she doesn't do anything bad at all before revealing her true self at the end. There's no foreshadowing. Then once she does reveal the fact, she transforms into a different character. So it never feels like we get to see Chelsea the little mermaid being the bad guy.

I found it very slightly amusing (in a somewhat 'tragic' sense) that Deadline's report on the weekend box office specifically cited the AMC theater here in Burbank, California as having the highest 'per screen' earnings for Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken, in the entire USA.

Yeah, that's .. that's all the DreamWorks employees, going to see it, here. :| :?
