Can't wait to see how it gives Disney the idea of remaking their animated classics in CGI.

That idea already goes back to Michael Eisner suggesting they update Peter Pan twenty years ago. I can’t see that happening, though. Live remakes and sequels will come first...

In fact, the 3D CGI versions of Peter Pan and Aladdin at Disney Parks' "Philharmagic" 3D-movie attraction were, hush-hush, meant to be auditions of 2D projects to be updated.
We had an easier transition of power getting rid of Eisner fifteen years ago than we do of You-Know-Who.

Lovely song in the trailer. Animation looks great. Doubt very much I will ever see this. Dub will likely go to Netflix, and that whole voice situation. Sarah will never be Ash to me. Too different and just plain distracting. She can't emote to save her life!

As I predicted, Secrets of the Jungle is heading to Netflix:



Could just be the bias talking, but that has to be one of the worst cut trailers for a Pokémon film I've ever seen. Footage seemed random, the audio mixing was all over the place and yes, the voices... ugh. Also sounds like dub music. Oh well, no real loss. The last Poké flick I attempted to watch, I Choose You, (an alternate continuity of the first season, essentially) I couldn't make it past five minutes. I just get no joy out of the current dub.

Everything about this seems exceptionally pure & heartwarming.

Not particularly for me, but this looks exceptionally well made. At first I was thinking it was stop-motion, but was then questioning if it was CG done on twos to give that stop-motion look — mainly because I couldn’t get my head around why anyone would make Pokémon in stop-motion!

So I looked for the usual tiny "imperfections" and decided that, yes, this is stop-motion, but the decision to do it on twos *really* keeps that anime feel to it, which is indeed something subconscious, almost, and keeps it close to the original style while also coming over, as Droo said, very heartwarming (stop-motion always seems to elicit a warm feeling, even more than traditional animation, since *everything* has been touched by human hand).

Naturally the designs and models support this aesthetic; they've really nailed it!
