I'm not that impressed with Ne Zha 2's raw box office numbers. If you "equalize" the US population to match China's, Inside Out 2 would have made $2.6 billion here domestically.

And to say that Ne Zha 2 is the new "international" box office champ when 98% of its box office is domestic to China feels very misleading.

And all that's without even bringing up that China notoriously limits theatrical competition.

Now what Ne Zha 2 has done in China is impressive.
