Ultimate Movie-Mashes!

Post by Ben »

These topics on The Quote Game and the new one called The Song Game have reminded me of something I started ages ago on another forum.

Like the music "mashes" of a while back, I called it movie-mashing and it seems to have caught on going by several forums I pass by.

The idea is essentially that you take two or more movie titles (we won't keep it to animation since it could be a bit limiting!) and mash 'em together.

The first and last words must be a total match, and for it to be effective you really need to use the entire title.

So, Sleeping Beauty And The Beast works, but Brokeback To The Future since it doesn't contain either title in full.

Got it? GO! ;)

How about Saving Private Ryan's Daughter...? (The ultimate Steven Spielberg - David Lean movie  )

Am I doing well? I'm not sure I understood the rules

Oops, my mistake for not spelling it out.

Santa Clause 3: The Great Escape Clause and Peter Pan: Return to Finding Neverland do not work, since you've broken the titles of both those movies to insert another's title.

Saving Private Ryan's Daughter just about works since you're using the last and first words from corresponding titles.

Does that make more sense?

For instance, this works:

Bad Santa Claus: The Movie

I used Bad Santa, and Santa Claus: The Movie. If I used Fantastic Planet and Planet Of The Apes, I'd get Fantastic Planet Of The Apes.

Better? :)

I think I understand the game now. Let me check.

So even though one of these is a TV show...

The Office + Office Space = The Office Space

And even though one of these is a restaurant...

Burger King + King Kong = Burger King Kong

Except for the fact that I'm not always using movies titles, I've still got the basic hang of the game now, right?

Pity my original understanding of the game wasn't correct. I was really excited about O Brother Bear, Where Art Thou? :)

That goes for me as well. Pity, the game seemed to be more fun the other way. But that's just me ;)

Btw... That was a great mash Mickey, "O Brother Bear, Where Art Though" very funny
