New Popeye parody at Camp Chaos Website

Post by GeorgeC »

It's at http://www.campchaos.com/show.php?iID=888

Great send-up of anime conventions! The Popeye animation is a bit limited (it's Flash -- what do you expect?!?!?!), but otherwise better than most of the newer stuff seen for the past 20 years.

P.S. -- Unless you have a fast DSL/Cable connection, you're going to be waiting a while for this Quicktime short to download!

That played in realtime on my connection.

Really cool, and very funny. Reminded me of the South Park anime episode.

I didn't mind the Popeye animation - it looked pretty good to me considering how it's done, but was more put of by his voice. Was close, but not as close as other impersonations I've heard.

Funny though, and I downloaded it before King Features go ape and demand it taken down! :)

An oldie -- but a GOODIE site! Mel Blanc sings...

Mel Blanc sings as Porky Pig, "Porky's Christmas Blues!"

Link courtesy of Jerry Beck.

I linked to this site last year and laughed at it, so here's the URL:

Funniest things I've seen on the Internet in the past day...

Post by GeorgeC »

Two things --

A) Bono from the Irish rock group U2 being touted as a candidate for the presidency of the World Bank!

B) "Hercules" acting like a complete tool (as usual) on AICN and complaining with backtalkers about next-generation DVD standards that haven't been established yet! The guy loves lording over people about machines he has that AREN'T mass-market (and NEVER will be) like the 10-year-old kid who brags to his friends when he's the first on his block to get the hottest toy on the market!

Off-topic (animation-wise), but this stuff is too priceless not to share!

I know we can hop over to AICN and find the links ourselves, but would be good of you to provide them in your write up! ;)

OK, cuz you asked for it nicely!

Here's the link to the article with the TalkBack that degenerates in Herc the Jerk shooting off his mouth and putting his foot in it --

http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/secretdis ... i?id=19570

It originally begins as a talk of a Warren Ellis' (the most snobbish British comic book writer who writes American comic books) review of the new Doctor Who TV series pilot. There's a lot of criticism over the fact that Herc took a line out of context from Ellis' review to support his contention that the new "Who" ain't that good.

It degenerates into techno-babble and wars over a format that HASN'T been finalized yet!

Just a few goodie samplings --

One of the more intelligent posts that takes the "moderator" to task for a buying decision:
http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/tb_displa ... 570#854444

The way Herc talks to people, it's no wonder so many of them think he's a tool!

The funny thing is... I didn't even know there WAS an HD-VHS! :)

That's how obscure tape is becoming now...

And yes, I still think Herc is a tool!

Buzz Bunny needs to cut down on his caffeine!

Post by GeorgeC »

With the broo-ha-ha over the insipid Loonatics preview art and Sandler Schwartz's apparent cluelessness over the sacrilege he's about to commit, there comes a NEW Internet parody short that rips Buzz a new one!

EXTREME WARNING TO PARENTS AND PEOPLE UNABLE TO HANDLE IT: THIS SHORT HAS ADULT LANGUAGE IN IT

It's so vile I laughed...!

Knowledge of anatomy is great and I'm sure the best cartoonists have had teaching in it, but some drawings show that some people just have too much time on their hands!

Yeah, I've seen the anatomy drawings of Mickey that show his brains housed in his ears...

Well, I thought that those were pretty clever!

I think the Mickey shot was in Runaway Brain, when he undergoes the mind-switch thing with Julius.
