Cars 2!!!

Post by JV IS TIZ!!! PIXAR »

According to a very reliable anonymous source Cars 2 will be released after Toy Story 3! So it looks like the rumors are true! We are still waiting for an official announcement from Pixar though. Maybe this could be Brad Lewis' unannounced project that he been talking about?

So Pixar is going to put out 2 sequels in a row. Pixar always likes a good challenge.

One question I have is that Paul Newman has retried, In the rumor about a Cars 2 in early June of this year Paul Newman said that Pixar was making a Cars 2, so how would he know about a Cars 2 unless someone has told him or he has singed up for it, or maybe he’s already done some voice work, but I doubt it.

I expect Cars 2 to be Pixar’s 2011 release and John Carter of Mars to be Pixar 2012 release.

Well, I'm not shocked. I was the only one, who actually believed those rumors.

Seems kind of odd, though, that of all the Pixar films, they would want to return to Cars. I mean, why not Monsters Inc? Or A Bug's Life?

And hey, doesn't this contradict the whole uneeded sequel thing? ;) Toy Story 3 was lucky, but another sequel? How dare they! :P

By the way, here's my original thread; Cars 2?

yeah but we can't just believe it until further official statements. You don't quote the source so for me, I can't buy it yet...

I’m also awaiting an official announcement, but probably won't get that for a few years. The source would like to remain anonymous.

As a movie that did so-so box office and was critically awarded "meh" status, I don't think that we'll be seeing a Cars 2 for theatrical release.

Out of all the Pixar subjects that they could go into sequel territory with, Cars is second only to A Bug's Life as a story that has ended, plain and simple. Even the Cars short spin-off didn't follow the movie but was placed somewhere within it.

We've heard rumors of Monsters Inc 2, Nemo 2, etc, and the only ones I'll believe until I see an announcement from Disney/Pixar is Toy Story 3 and another Incredibles.

Thanks for the existing thread nudge Dan...merging... ;)

No problem, Ben! ;)

So, like the last time, I'm the only who buys this? :( JV wouldnt post something, unless he was 100% positive it was true....

But yeah, I won't fully believe it, until I see an official announcement.

Daniel - Your right, I would not post anything that I says is ture unless I'am 100% sure that it is true. I don't think Pixar will have an official announcement for a few years though.

We were also promised a Bug's Life 2 and Monsters Inc 2, neither of which happened.

An announcement for Cars 2, if it is ever made, would come in 2008 or 2009 at the latest, though there's no reason to hold back now what with all the rumors flying around.

Personally, I don't think there will be a Cars 2. If JV can name a source, then let's hear it, but this is wish list stuff for now.

When were promised a Bug's Life 2 and Monsters Inc 2? Cars 2 would come out in 2011 at thr lastest, because the source said that Cars 2 would come out after Toy Story 3, which will be released in 2010.

So 2 sequels in a row? Now I don't buy it even more, that doesn't sound anything like the "pixar" way of doing things.
