Imdb.com says:

In a divided land, a troubled youth and some unlikely friends must save the world from itself.

Delgo, an adventurous but naive teenager, must rally his group of friends to protect their world from conflict between the Lockni and Nohrin people.

The site also says that the film will feature the following voices:

Credited cast:
Anne Bancroft .... Sedessa (voice)
Val Kilmer .... Bogardus (voice)
Freddie Prinze Jr. .... Delgo (voice)
Jennifer Love Hewitt .... Princess Kyla (voice)
Chris Kattan .... Filo (voice)
Louis Gossett Jr. .... Zahn (voice)
Eric Idle .... Spig (voice)
Kelly Ripa .... Kurrin (voice)
Michael Clarke Duncan .... Elder Marley (voice)
Malcolm McDowell .... Raius (voice)
rest of cast listed alphabetically:
Brad Abrell .... Spog (voice)
Sally Kellerman .... Narrator (voice)
Mary Matilyn Mouser .... Baby Delgo (voice)
Burt Reynolds .... Delgo's Father (voice)

And it even has a trailer (which I haven't watched yet):
http://imdb.com/rg/title-tease/trailers ... 0/trailers

Hope this explains a little.

We've covered this tons in the past, but our search engine seems to have a hiccup.

It looks, frankly, terrible and is the result of some rich kid being given a bunch of dosh to play with an animation studio.

Don't let the voice cast smoke your eyes - this is DTV level at best.

That website hasn't changed in the last two years... this project is dead in the water... the film was probaply crap..

my favourite quote from the Delgo website is this one:
Pixar took Hollywood by storm with full-length-computer-generated movies, now a team of visionaries miles from Tinseltown plans to do the same with a fantasy epic of their own.
or this one:
The latest Delgo-trailer is nothing short of breathtaking
and the best one of all:
Pixar is in for a run for their money with this team
so very, very....VERY entertaining...

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I like some of the designs (even though those are UGLY aliens) but the animation is appalingly bad.

The jokes are...not good.

And the storyline is bascially Treasure Planet + Antz + Sinbad. NOTHING orignal here.

It looks like a bunch of video game animators got together and said, "Hey, let's make a movie!"

Honestly. When I see stuff like this, I wonder, "Are they even aware of what they're doing?!?"

Violet, animated films take two-to-four years to make.

Bancroft could have very well recorded all her lines before she died, and there was no reason to exemplify that so loundly and rather crudely.

Remember that Brando has done all his lines for an as-yet unmade feature, at that he'll pop up again in Superman Returns - 25 years after he filmed that role!

Ohh, yah--
It's at the point now that if I see Val Kilmer's name on an animated cast--never mind Hewitt or Idle--I immediately think either "Foreign Weinstein acquisition" or "Indie headed for direct-DVD and/or qualifying one-week minor theater distribution".

(And given "First Look Productions", think we can go with "Indie".)

DELGO Wins Best Picture

Post by SpeakMediaBlog »

After years in production, the independently produced animated film Delgo is wowing audiences.

____________ PRESS RELEASE BELOW ________________________

DELGO Wins Best Feature Film at Anima Mundi 2008

The Festival’s Audience of 100,000 People Selected The Winner

Anima Mundi, one of the largest and most prominent animation festivals in the world, awarded Delgo, the Best Animated Feature of the year.

An audience of 100,000 viewers, rather than a festival jury, determines the award for Best Feature Film. Anima Mundi director, Cesar Coelho, stated, “We believe it’s important for film enthusiasts to decide on the winner rather than a panel of jurors or film critics. Everyone who watches the selected films has an opportunity to voice their opinion.”

The final cut of Delgo premiered at the Brazilian animation festival. Winning films at Anima Mundi were selected from thousands of submissions from over 70 countries. Delgo is a fantasy action-adventure of a world’s struggle for unity. The all-star voice cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Anne Bancroft, Val Kilmer, Chris Kattan, Malcolm McDowell, Lou Gossett, Jr., Kelly Ripa, Michael Clarke Duncan, Eric Idle, Sally Kellerman and Burt Reynolds.

“After many years of development and production, it’s exhilarating to have such a positive reception from audiences, said Producer/Director, Marc F. Adler. “Seeing the reactions from festival attendees as they watched our film made all our hard work worthwhile.”

Delgo was also selected by Annecy (France) and SICAF (Korea), animation festivals.

A wide domestic theatrical release for Delgo will be announced shortly.

Welcome to our boards, and congrats on your film.

I know it's gotten a real bashing online, but I'd be very interested to see how it does in fact hold up against similar fare.

Good luck with the release plans. :)
