Well, if the rumours are true and "Up" is going to be an adaption of 'Don Quixote', then I think the princess will be the love interest of the hero rather than the main character, since apparently the main characters are the 70 year old man and the young woodland ranger according to the plot synopsis.

I mean a hero (like Snow White,Cinderella,Aurora,Ariel,Belle,Alice,Pocahontas Mulan and Giselle)
and not a main female lead (Nala,Jasmine,Dory and etc.) or a damsel in distress (Fiona,Angie and etc.).
Might be from UP? that sounds interesting, it would make sense since that is the only other thing that has circulating rumors out that aren't that solid. The only things that contradicts is that if it's supposed to be Don Quoxite then why would a past article claim that she was scottish when the story of Don Quoxite is spanish. Could they have adapted the story for a different region or time?
Actually,there is one thought I don't think she"ll ever be a Disney Princess,it's Mira Nova from the Buzz Lightyear series,she is a princess (and alien).
