That's the only other animated film I can think of released in 1990. (other than The Prince and the Pauper if you count that.)

If you re-read that, Bluth's stance on the film (in production) changes abour three times!

Guess it explains what went sour between the Bluth/Spielberg relationship though.

I like the Land Before Time, but it's not something I can watch over and over. I find it a very frustrating cartoon, mostly down to the sometimes really laboured animation (there's a shot early on, where a dino walks and you can literally see the animator's legs trying this movement out).

Likewise, and as that story points out, it is too closely based on Fantasia to feel truly original, and the slow pace doesn't help. However, it's still a lot more consistent than the later Bluth films, before he got decent backing from Fox.
