Two more characters:

Chunk's voice is not yet known, but Chatter Telephone is voiced by Teddy Newton, art director on The Incredibles and director of the short on Toy Story 3 called Night and Day.

Both look good, though
the telephone is certainly evil, so is Lotso being revealed as the villain far behind?

Excellent read, as per usual. :)

My only gripe is that the original opening of the film has been nothing short of ruined to place the new Disney castle and Pixar logos on the front, totally scrapping Randy Newman’s intro music which, very obviously as heard underneath the 1996 LaserDisc audio commentary ported over here, could have accompanied the Pixar logo at least rather than coming in with a very amateurish cut.
I was really annoyed by this as well, when I went to see the double feature last year. I'm so used to the old intro with the CG castle. At the very least, they could've kept the intro music to make the cut less awkward. :?

Dacey: thanks!

Whippet: yep, why not just cue up the music to start when the Luxo lamp hops on screen? As heard on the commentary, the timing is a perfect fit and, though the Disney castle is gone, at least the music would have been preserved.

As it is, it's a lacklustre flow into the film, as opposed to the triumphant, "here's something really new" fanfare of old. :(

Yeah, that was my own major disappointment with the Blu-Rays. I remember first seeing Toy Story back in '95 and being wowed just by that opening castle. But, now, it looks like they have George Lucas-ed Toy Story now.

Well, at least I still have the VHS. :-P

This is cool: a comparative chart of Pixar character sizes right up to TS3:

That is pretty cool, especially after I figured out you could zoom in!

In one of my rare visits to the Disney Store the other day, I saw they've gotten a ton more merchandise for TS3. I even saw a Lotso plush! The neat thing about him was that he smelled like strawberry's. I was so tempted to get him, but he was the big kind. (about 13" I say) I'll prefer to wait for the smaller version.

Possibly "new" viral videos. Fake 80s commericals of Lots-o-Huggin' bear.

They did a really great job, (This is coming from someone who watches too many 80s and 80s japanese commercials :P)

U.S.-

Japanese-

The US one was dead on (the TS3 trailers seem to be on their "Bad-tracking VHS" kick), the Japanese one had me right up until they went for the cheap anime/culture-bashing gags--
Tsk, tsk, guys, and the studio of Miyazaki's Buddy at that...What are we, Warner? :P
