Maybe. If this is true then man of steel, lobo, wonder woman, and batman reboot(again) will lead into the justice league movie!

Found this news on the comic forum boards. Sounds kinda like what marvel is doing. What do you guys think?
DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
They're already doing VERY well with their animated features.
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
Sounds like they FINALLY picked up on what Marvel was doing after the Avengers movie (and after ruing the day they decided to make Green Lantern funny). Better late than never.gaastra wrote:Sounds kinda like what marvel is doing. What do you guys think?
Which means it wasn't a bad time for the Dark Knight series to wrap up its off-book "real-world" version and step aside.

Superman sucks
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
Kind of makes sense, but only three movies to JL?
And I still think Nolan's Batman isn't quite done. I have a feeling that Nolan is DC's Jon Favreau and will be shepherding these characters for a while to come.

I think Nolan doesn't really WANT to be Jon Favreau--Ben wrote:And I still think Nolan's Batman isn't quite done. I have a feeling that Nolan is DC's Jon Favreau and will be shepherding these characters for a while to come.
Favreau was only brought in before the Marvel takeover, because Paramount thought they could hire the Zathura director to do a "funny, tongue-in-cheek" off-book Fantastic Four version of Captain America, and ended up getting a geek-faithful version of Iron Man and the creation of Marvel Studios instead.
SImilarly, Warner brought Nolan in after the post-Schumacher drought to do an "off-book" reboot of Batman with "Begins", and Dark Knight ended up making more money than it would today, but Warner was still thinking "What would the Memento director do to it?"
Given Nolan's faux-Scorsese "real world" take on the comics, and his being perfectly happy to wrap up the series on the third film, don't exactly think we're talking about a canon-driven Sam Raimi insisting, "No, no, we HAVE to do Poison Ivy the right way this time!"
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
DC meets Marvel with all kinds of awesomeness in this sequential series ("Fight Part 2" is the best, but watch these in order to get there)...
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
Warner Bros. just announced that their going to take a huge gamble.
They're putting Justice League up against Avengers 2. Almost literally.

Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
Knowing Warner, however, the difference between the two is that Avengers 2 will actually be made.
Re: DC to start a shared universe with man of steel?
The big news here is really DC winning a big court decision on the Superman rights, though more court dates are still in the future.
I'd love to see an awesome JL film, but have limited confidence in it being anywhere near as great as Avengers, or even Avengers 2. Putting the films out in the same season is indeed a gamble, one that Warner had better be awfully sure of.
