the last thing I wanted was this discussion to blow up - sorry for starting it. In the meantime I've seen some similair CG test shots of other big animated films on another forum that show no resemblence to the final product, for wich I was mistaken the stills. Again, not my intention to start this fiasco, sorry

I've been hearing this has been cancelled. Is that true?

If it was being cancelled, that would be quite shocking, especially if it stemmed from the hatred on this forum!

No...there were some "story issues" and some "budget concerns" about a year ago.
The Tarzan teaser points to this being very much back full on.

Yeah...That's what I thought. I was talking about this in another forum and a bunch of people told me it was cancelled. It was really annoying.

Wasn't "The Wild" the original name for "Madagascar"? I remember reading that somewhere.

That's a cute sig. I like your avatar too.

Maybe you're thinking of "Wild Life" this really risque feature at Disney that they ended up canceling. (It also took place in NYC.)

More realistic animation. That's what the stills which I've seen have indicated.

From what I'd been hearing and seeing of The Wild, I had a very negative feeling about it. I was expecting to be blown away by how horrible the trailer was going to be, but...I dunno, it didn't seem that bad...Although, yes, it DOES rip a lot of stuff from Madagascar, specially that whole killer poodle thing.

Aside from the resemblance with Madagascar (geez!) this film just has 'direct to video' written all over it. This is a sad, sad production that quite literally insults the good taste of moviegoers. Do they think that just because it has the Disney stamp on it, is computer animated and made for children, that that's gonna be enough? I seriously doubt it and sincerely hope not. If I were a Disney shareholder, I'd be very pissed!
