AOL video is the WORST *&(*&%(* MOVIE PLAYER EVER

ARRRGH

Yaeh, I barely got a 30 seconds into the trailer before it decided to completely screw up on me. God, I hate AOL.

From what I DID see, the designs look a lot like Antz except the way they did the legs is different.

I'd like to meet the person who thought it was a good idea to make another CGI ant movie...

Visually nicely executed, but it looks like a mix of AntZ design and Pixar's outtakes spoof. Nothing about plot yet... Ants again ? hmmm... Third time lucky ?

Looks fun.

Surprised they are sticking so close to the Antz look, seeing as this isn't a DreamWorks film.

Who's the crew on this one?

Ant Bully

DNA Productions in Dallas, Texas. I believe it's under Nickelodeon distribution and marketing.

A handful of Blue Sky animators defected and are working on this one.

Aren't they the ones that do Jimmy Neutron?

The teaser looks makes me excited, except that the style KIND of looks like Antz, but on the other hand, I see a lot of Jimmy Neutron in it. So *shrugs*

If you want the plot just... go look up "The ant bully" on google. It's based off a kids book.

Yeah, DNA did Jimmy Neutron.

I thought they split and went to work for Steve O's company, working on Barnyard.

Maybe the influx of people from Blue Sky kept them going?

Better animation than Barnyard and Jimmy though. It will play well with the Antz/Bug's Life/Toy Story crowd, which the story and look have much in common with.

From what I understand. DNA is a very healthy production company that's never needed to disband. They've been running strong ever since they scored big boxoffice returns from Jimmy Neutron. No doubt, some artists probably did jump ship for better opportunities at Omation Studios.

Even though Jimmy Neutron was snubbed aesthetically by rival studio artists, DNA now has some of the best people in the industry working there. (Texas is big bang for your buck) It'll be interesting to see how quality changes. They are, so far, one of the only companies to make CGI films on a low cost model and come away successful. All the power to 'em!

Your thoughts on The Ant Bully

Post by Lino »

I ussually love all CGI but Ive never liked anything that came out of DNA productions. The plots are weak and the animation is somewhat cheezy. In the Ant Bully, it seems no differant, the ants look abit like the birthchild of Antz & A Bugs Life (by the looks of the first trailer, the 5 min preview isnt working for me, has it worked for any1 else?). The acctaul story is the same as an old "Dexters Lab" episode and AB's plot delves into wizards in magic insects just to hold it self up. Plus an August release date isnt the best time for an animated flick. At least theve got Hanks.

Looks dumb, dumb, dumb. Even worse than Hoodwinked.

I like pie too but chocolate cake is the best!
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Okay, I lied. I think pie is okay and I don't like cake (unless it's ice cream or cookie). I feel so ashamed!

Anyway, it REALLY bugs me how much the designs look like Antz. And I hated Jimmy Neutron, so...I probably won't be seeing this.
