Nintendo has been saying for months they want to make movies with their games again. Zelda is with Netflix, The sony hack showed sony is in talks to get Mario and now 3 studios want Pokémon-and Nintendo is fine with this!
Not official yet but it makes sense. Pokémon is one of nintendos biggest games and 90s stuff is big right now. (like 2001 was for 80s)

If this turns out anything like the anime, I'll pass. But if it resembles the Pokemon Adventures manga (called Pocket Monsters Special in Japan) by Hidenori Kusaka--I think I'd just about lose my mind out of excitement.

Looks like we might have a winner of the bidding wars for pokemon. Also Pokémon Go has made the film move along big time.
