As everybody knows, I'm not a fan of Cars. And I'm not a fan of car related movies. Cars the vehicles just bore me in general. On my first watch of Cars the movie I found myself enjoying it despite my original hesitation of seeing a movie about talking cars.

The movie for me really works when it is about Lightning's time in Radiator Springs. By the time, James Taylor is lamenting about highways I admit I was caught up in the sotry and its message about rushing through things. But then it's back to the track and I'm bored again and when the movie's climax mathes with what I thought was going to happen in the end I felt disappointed with the movie.

Is it the worse Pixar movie in my books, no cause I can sit down and watch it with my nephew. There is at least 2 other Pxar movies I have not sat through again in full.

Cars may be underrated by people looking to bash Pixar but for the key demographics for the movie its a massive smash and the best thing ever.

What I don't get is how this is asking if Cars is overrated (it is and isn't: it isn't really rated at all, it just "is"), but then for the author to profess a love for it.

And...really...couldn't this just go in the Cars thread? Moving now...

He asked if it was UNDER-rated (to parody/protest the existing threads), and yes it is. :D

Oops...sorry! Just so used to these threads now I didn't read correctly.

Anyway...it still should have been swept into our Cars thread, and so it has been (thanks again Dan).

I think Cars probably is underrated...but only by those that think it's a much better film than it is. And those are the kind of people that are probably not going to enjoy the upcoming sequel...

Wish I had seen this when it was new, as I would've posted it on the front page. Totally awesome:

That IS awesome! I would say, whenever you next post a Cars 2 story, you could add a quick line that says, "And for those of you that might have missed it...", y'know? :)

Haha...thanks!

While this misses out a few of the things I really got frustrated about with Cars it also does a good job of skewering it exactly as deserved. Actually, watching this got me more and more annoyed with the movie itself. I could maybe see myself watching Cars one more time in my entire life, in a good few years when I've forgotten most things about it. Maybe.

Ben's rating of Cars (in two separate reviews): 7 out of 10.

What can I say? I guess I got caught up in the moment!

(And I think that second review was a cut and paste of the first, so the score stuck. I would have marked it lower but I often think one should stick to their scores they give).

The high score and comments Empire gave to The Phantom Menace in their review is almost legendary over there! And look how that turned out.

Your opinion is your opinion.

It's the wrong opinion, but it's still your opinion.

Lol! :)
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
