Apparently not, since they're also making The Smurfs CG for their movie.

I quite like that idea though, as the Smurfs have famously been portrayd in 3D as figurines which were a big hit in the 1980s.

Hopefully, this may see their 1974 (I think) feature film "The Smurfs And The Magic Flute" released by whoever owns it. That was quality, made in France by the Studio Idefix people before Hanna-Barbera toned down the artistry for their early 80s TV series.

Saw an ad for this movie on PBS this morning. It would seem that they're showing it (in Maryland, at least) TODAY.

So check your local listings if you're interested in seeing it.

What, Smurfs And The Magic Flute?

Another classic that we should have out on DVD! :)

Both. Can't believe me some idiots want to make CGI versions of two bad shows.

The 1974 Smurfs movie is great though. Properly hand drawn, no Hanna-Barbera...quality feature.

I always loved the Smurfs, they had great stories. My favorite characters were the Smurflings. :)

I loved the story when they had to find the crystal that keeps them from aging and eventually dying....(yes, you read that right! :P )
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
