This wasn't "For the superbowl". They've been playing it in theaters before pretty much every single movie for months now.

Oops! Believe it or not, I had never seen the ad until yesterday. As it turns out, I finally caught the commercial online, after seeing it named among several "Best Super Bowl XLI commercials" lists.

Anyway, sorry about the mistake.

It is indeed. Does anyone else besides me remember the old coke jingle? "I'd like to buy the world a coke..." That's actually one of the songs my school's belltower plays.

Yeah, except I remember a bunch of people on a mountaintop singing: "I'd like to teach the world to sing...."

Also the even older one: "Just for the taste of it...Diet Coke!"

Here's another old McD's ad with the ORIGINAL Ronald McDonald (although from what I understand he was actually the "second" Ronald) presenting "Our New Song" from 1988!

Plus a ton of other cool ads!
