Peter and the Starcatchers

Post by Christian »

The book Peter and the Starcatchers seems to have received great customer reviews at Amazon and Barnes & Noble:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/bookse ... 4456&itm=1

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 78-3600958

After this movie comes out I suppose Peter Pan completist fanatics will be able to watch:

* Finding Neverland
* Peter and the Starcatchers
* Peter Pan
* Tinkerbell: The Movie
* Return to Never Land
* Hook

One reviewer even said: "Barry and Pearson supposedly have two more 'prequel' novels in the works," so maybe Disney will make movies of those too.

First they attacked Pooh, then The Lion King and Cinderella and now Peter Pan?!

Oh well, I'm sure these movies won't be cash ins. Did I mention that I discovered the meaning of life? :roll:

I really like your avatar. :wink:
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Christian,

In the other thread I created (http://animated-news.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=325) I linked to some articles I posted on my website, PeterPanFan.com.

Yes - two more prequel books are planned. Yes - Disney is interested in making this a trilogy series on film.

However - there is also a lawsuit planned on the original prequel novel (Starcatchers) from PETER PAN copyright owner the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

All info is on my website.

My personal thoughts:

Disney is milking the Peter Pan story for all its worth. I am HIGHLY against a PREquel, however a sequel would make sense. RETURN TO NEVERLAND was OK - but not Barrie. They didn't even attempt to make the work similar.

Hmm, I wonder if somebody could merge the threads.

I forgot also to mention that Disney is knowingly putting themselves into legal trouble in making this film. They are doing it without the approval of GOSH (Peter Pan copyright owners).

First Glimpse of Tink's Movie through the Disney's Fairies?

Post by Kinoo »

In this link you'll find an artwork for the Disney's Fairies product line that Disney will lauch newt year simultouneously with the TinkerBell movie. On the picture you can a clear look at the new fairies that will certainly be featured in the CGI Movies:

Nice to see they've gone with a very nice old-school character design - they look very much like the discarded concepts for Tink (or is that where they got them from?)...

Good to see good old-fashioned artistry as well - no c****y CGI Tink here! :)

About that...

When I recently went to Disneyland, all the paper cups featured a large pic of Tink. But I couldn't figure out if the pic was CG or not! Anyone else know what I'm talking about? :? :?:
